Platform Rules

At GovAuctions we take our commitment to fairness incredibly seriously. Our goal is to keep battles and auctions accessible and fair for everyone. To make that possible, we enforce strict platform rules that cover everything from reselling restrictions to our zero-tolerance policy for bots, collusion, or any unfair advantages.

If you're new, here are the basics (full terms below):

  • One account per person (and a maximum of two per household).
  • No reselling of items unless explicitly allowed in the battle description.
  • Play solo, teaming up with others to gain an advantage is not allowed.
  • No bots or software, all bidding must be done by real people.
  • Respectful participation, usernames must be appropriate and non-misleading.

Account policy

  • Each user may only have and use one account.
  • Each household may have a maximum of two accounts. This privilege may be revoked at GovAuction's discretion.

Reselling

Products obtained from GovAuctions may not be resold unless explicitly stated in the product description. Many of our surplus retail providers only sell inventory under the policy of no reselling. Violations will result in account closure.

Winning limits

Winning limits are put in place to ensure a level playing field. The following limits apply to all users:

  • Twelve-Per-Year: You can only win a specific item 12 times every 365 days. Any booked automatic bids for the same item will be automatically cancelled after your 12th win.
  • 50 Wins Per Week: Each user can win up to 50 battles or auctions per week. Once this limit is reached, all booked automatic bids are cancelled. You can bid again when your limit resets at 00:00 PST on the same weekday you created your account.
  • One-Per-User: Some battles and auctions are restricted to bidders who have never won that product in a "One-Per-User" battle before. These battles and auctions are clearly marked on the battle page.

Team play

Colluding with family, friends, or acquaintances is strictly prohibited. GovAuctions uses advanced monitoring and anti-fraud systems to quickly detect violations. Bidders caught participating in team play will have their wins voided and may face permanent suspension without refund, as well as other consequences.

You may report any suspected unfair behavior at any time to our support team, who will forward the report for investigation by our Trust and Safety team. Please note that we cannot reimburse bids to other participants in battles or auctions affected by team play.

Use of third-party software

The use of any external bidding software or automated tools, whether to scrape any information or to take any actions on GovAuctions, is strictly forbidden.

Usernames

Usernames must not be obscene, misleading, intimidating, or created to impersonate another user. GovAuctions reserves the right to moderate usernames and change infringing usernames at any time in its sole discretion.

Employees and family members

GovAuctions employees, their immediate family members (spouses, parents, siblings, and children), and anyone living in the same household are not permitted to participate in GovAuctions battles or auctions under any circumstances.

GovAuctions enforces these rules without exception. We reserve full discretion to void battle wins, close accounts, revoke access, and pursue additional actions for anyone found violating them.
